Why Polers Matters Now
The Vision As a filmmaker, I am drawn to stories that hide behind prejudice. Polers is not just a docu-series about a sport; it is a cinematic exploration of resilience, body sovereignty, and the strength that emerges when movement meets emotion. After the international success of my pilot, "A Day With a Pole Dancer," I realized we have only scratched the surface. There is an urgent need to tell the stories of those who use the vertical bar to overcome trauma, reclaim identity, and build community.
Why Now? We are in an era of body positivity and holistic wellness, yet pole dance remains misunderstood, trapped between hyper-sexualization and dismissive stereotypes. Polers challenges this "external gaze." With a global community of over 7 million active practitioners on social media and a booming boutique fitness market, the audience is already there—hungry for a narrative that reflects their reality. This is the first series to offer a truly cinematic lens on this revolution.
The Ask: What I Need I have reached a crucial crossroads. This project has been fueled by passion, "sweat equity," and the success of a self-funded pilot. To bring all six episodes to life with the high production value this community deserves, I need partners who believe in independent storytelling.
I am seeking €50,000 to cover:
- Production & Post-Production: Ensuring cinematic excellence, professional color grading, and a bespoke soundscape.
- Global Reach: Localization and subtitling in English, Chinese, Spanish, and French to tap into the world's largest markets.
- Distribution: A strategic plan to engage the global network and secure streaming placement.
The Opportunity I am currently at the seed stage, looking for investors, co-producers, or sponsors. By supporting Polers, you are not just funding a film; you are investing in a scalable, cross-cultural media asset with a built-in global audience. I have the vision, the expertise, and the community access. Now, I need the fuel to make it happen. Let’s strip away the stigma together and show the world the true heart of the Polers.
