Why This?

Urban radio stations have played a pivotal role within communities of color in the U.S, especially African American communities. For decades, Little Rock, Arkansas has been known for the historical Little Rock Nine and gang violence in the 90s. Little Rock has made great progress over the years and the Power 92 Jams radio station has been at the center of it all. This station is one of the few remaining live broadcasting urban radio stations in the country. Power 92 has proven to be more than a platform for music. They have become a true resource for the local community and the state of Arkansas.

Why Now?

As social media continues to be one of leading platforms in media and the podcast industry grows, Power 92 Jams has found a way to stand the test of time for over 30 years. This documentary will share the importance and impact of a high performing local live radio station. Southern stories need to be told and the 2x Marconi Award winning radio station's story will shed a positive light on the city of Little Rock, Arkansas.

In order to fulfill the true potential of this project, we will need $15,000.  Your contributions will help fund the remaining postproduction (animation, original music, sound mixing and film festival fees) of The People's Station and ensure the completion of the project.
